The Shakespeare Balancing Challenge

webshare pic2

For 154 days in succession, starting 14th March, I will stand on one foot whilst reciting a different Shakespeare sonnet (he wrote 154). Sonnets 101 to 154 will be performed blindfold.

While this is just as daft as it sounds, the purpose is totally serious: to raise funds for a classroom in the Little Sapphires School in Madagascar.

Would you like to win 1% of the total sum raised (up to a maximum of $70)?* Take a bet on the number of days I succeed in the blindfold balance, and you could. The closest answer wins. If there are two or more closest answers the same, there will be a draw to determine the winner. Bets are open until the start of the blindfold balancing on 23rd June.

There are two requirements for success: (a) not letting the foot I'm not standing on to touch either the ground or my other foot, and (b) to get no more than three words** in the sonnet wrong. To allow for verification, each performance will be filmed and posted on my YouTube Channel.

The challenge ends on 15th August 2023, and the winner will be announced in the week that follows. It is not necessary to donate in order to bet (though obviously it will be appreciated).
